Get your Google Maps API Key

  • Log into your your Google Maps API console.
  • Select (or create) a project 
  • Make sure the project is enabled for the following Google Maps APIs: 
    • Places API
    • Geolocation API
  • If these APIs do not appear in the list of APIs and Services, use the option "Enable APIs and Services" to enable them.
  • Navigate to the credentials area to create or copy your Google Maps API key. 

Setup your Google Maps API Key application parameter 

  • In the navigation bar, go to Address Validation -> Settings -> API Configuration.
  • Create a new record and enter the information as per your configuration.
  • Provide the information as follows:
    1. API Configuration Name: unique name for the configuration. This will be used as an input parameter for the Google autocomplete control or the Workflow (to tell the controls which API key to use)
    2. Validation Service Type: select the address verification API you want to use : Select Google Maps
    3. Service License Key: enter your corresponding API key.
    4. Is Valid: after the API configuration is created, click the "Validate API Key" button in the command bar. This action will validate the API key in the background to confirm the key is functional. If the API Key is invalid, you will get an error message on the screen and the value will remain No. If it worked, the value will be set to Yes.
